Oil seal (Simmering) – a shaft seal used to seal a rotating shaft
and the surrounding space from gaseous or liquid media. The oil seal consists of
an elastomer part (NBR, FPM, SI,…), a metal reinforcement, and a tension spring
that ensures correct radial pressure of the sealing lip.
Oil seal dimensions are given by three parameters: shaft inner diameter,
outer diameter of the oil seal, and height of the oil seal.

WAS design – the elastic outer cover compensates for thermal expansion
and surface roughness in the housing.
WAS type is used for standard sealing of liquid and gaseous media; WAS
is equipped with an additional dust lip, unlike the WA type.
Material design (WAS) of the sealing lip: NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber).
