O-rings, X-rings, D-rings and sealing cords form a comprehensive range of elastomeric seals with circular or profiled cross-sections. They are used to seal both static and dynamic joints in fittings, cylinders, valves, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. How to choose the correct size and material
Ring dimensions are specified using two parameters: inner diameter d1 × cross-sectional diameter d2 (e.g. 12.00 × 2.50 mm). For static sealing, NBR 70 Shore A is usually sufficient (universal for oils, water, air, -30 to +100 °C). For higher temperatures, oils, fuels or aggressive chemicals, choose FPM (Viton, up to +200 °C). For hot steam, food contact or ozone environments, EPDM or MVQ silicone is suitable. For chemically extreme applications, use PTFE.
