FLAT GASKETS
A flat gasket is a static seal used for flanged joints, bolted connections, covers and lids. It is used to seal the contact surfaces of two components to prevent the escape of liquids or gases. Our range covers a complete portfolio, from simple sealing rings right through to industrial asbestos-free gaskets and Teflon tapes.
Main types available
- Sealing rings: AL, Cu, Fíbr, USIT — flat washers for screw connections (hydraulics, air conditioning, gas); copper DIN 7603, aluminium, Fíbr, USIT (rubber + metal)
- Asbestos-free gaskets — BA-U (blue, universal), KWO (PTFE), for cutting gaskets to size; temperatures up to 440 °C, pressures up to 100 bar
- Self-adhesive PTFE tapes — KWO Universal expanded Teflon for sensitive flanged joints
- Packing cords — braided from PTFE, graphite and aramid for rotating and static applications
- Flat gaskets for the food industry — silicone, EPDM with FDA certification
How to choose
Key parameters: pressure, temperature, medium (chemical compatibility) and dimensions of the contact surfaces. For water/gas up to 80 °C, copper or USIT is sufficient; for hot media or steam, asbestos-free sheets; for chemically aggressive environments, PTFE or expanded graphite.
