V-belts are used to transmit rotary motion from one shaft to another. Thanks to many years of development in belt design, there are various types, which differ primarily in the amount of power they can transmit. In terms of design, belts can be divided into multiple, double-sided, ribbed and variable-speed types.
Applications
V-belts are suitable for power transmission in applications ranging from small machines to large compressors, blowers, power units, production line drives, agricultural machinery, in cars, etc.
Design
The basic classification is into coated belts, which consist of a body made of natural rubber, covered with fabric, with a PES tensile fibre located inside the body. Cut belts consist of a CR body (neoprene, chloroprene rubber) and a PES tensile cord, or Kevlar.
