O-rings are precision-formed circular sealing elements with high accuracy. The most suitable application of an O-ring is static; for dynamic applications certain limitations apply and must be respected.

The size of the groove — and therefore the sealing pressure — depends on whether the application is hydraulic or pneumatic. When choosing the groove width, make sure it is wider than the deformed O-ring.
