RIBBED BELTS – RIBBED SLEEVES TYPE PK – AUTOMOTIVE PROFILE
Ribbed belts are mainly used in drives with high gear ratios (1:40) where small-diameter pulleys (from 13 mm) must be fitted, and also in drives with multiple pulleys or idlers. Another advantage is that they can be fitted to equipment requiring higher peripheral speed (55 m/s) and compact high-performance transmission. The PK ribbed belt is made of CR rubber and PA fabric.
Automotive design These belts come already cut from sleeves and are ready to use. In most cases they are supplied in marked packaging straight from the manufacturer. Some lengths are also available in sleeve form, in which case you can choose any number of ribs.
Standard types supplied:
rubber: PH, PJ/J, PK, PL, PM
polyurethane: TB2
Parameters for identifying the size and type of PK belt:
e = 3.56 mm Pitch between individual teeth
h = 4.60 mm Belt height
α = 40° Wedge angle
If you have an existing belt and can read its marking, proceed as follows: „PK" (example PK 1025) marking in mm. Then count the number of ribs. Note! Do not confuse the number of ribs with the number of grooves. The belt designation always indicates the number of ribs (protruding wedges).
